Hi there!
Have I told you about #MeetThe2020s yet? We’re a group of friendly debut authors that have banded together to build community and spread the book love. We had a Twitter event back in July that some of you might recall. It was so much fun! I honestly went in withdrawal afterwards.
Well, since we are Debut 2020s afterall, we’re currently midway through our December meet-and-greet event in great anticipation of the new year and the release of our book babies into the world.
Every day throughout the month we’ve been answering a different question to reveal a bit more about ourselves and our books. Today’s was all about supporting local indie bookstores, hip hip!
Do you have a favourite local bookstore? Some of my best moments as an reader and an author have happened in indie shops, from readings to events to launches. There’s nothing better than getting lost in the stacks and finding your next great read, or chatting with people who are as passionate about book as you are.
Since it’s the season of giving, and because books really do make the best gifts, why not go local and keep these important places of connection going. My local faves here in Ottawa include Octopus Books, Singing Pebble Books, Perfect Books and Books on Beechwood.
And if you’re on Twitter, hop on over to @2020debuts or search the #MeetThe2020s for some great book ideas. I’ve pinned a thread to my profile in case you would like to discover more details about my diverse Women’s Fiction debut SECRET LIVES OF MOTHERS & DAUGHTERS, coming to Canada Jan 28th and the US, UK, AUS & NZ Feb 18th!
