Hi book friends! October is Mental Health Awareness Month, an issue close to my heart and writing. I'm honoured that Secret Lives was included in this stunning list of books c/o BookTrib and WFWA, attempting to break the silence around mental health, combat stigma, and foster a more empathetic world. I try to approach mental... Continue Reading →

Hiya bookish folks! I know it's been a while since I've touched base. (Guilty face.) I've been receiving sweet little notes from friends wondering what happened to me, so I thought I would write a post to at least semi-explain. Happy Monday, book folks! I took a little break from the author exchanges to keep up with the frenzy of launch month but we’re back! I’m thrilled to have fellow Canadian and 2020debut Kelly Duran on the blog today! I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Kelly this year and will never forget the day she helped me fulfill a life dream of seeing my book on the shelf at my favourite bookstore in Victoria, Munro Books, when she sent me a shelfie. A great friend and a great writer! I hope you enjoy getting to know more about Kelly and her upcoming release Can’t Take It Back this April, an audible original!
Thanks so much for taking the time, Kelly, and huge congratulations on your wonderful book! I don’t know about you, but I just want to grab a seat on that park bench and find out what…

How have you been doing in these self-isolation times? Are you leaning on books more than ever for escape, connection, community? I know I am!
Today I’m thrilled to have fellow Ottawa valley writer and friend Jen Gilroy on the blog. I’m a big fan of Jen’s work, so I’m excited for you to discover it too. I recently finished Jen’s latest, The Wishing Tree in Irish Falls, and it was just what I needed – a book about community, family, and second chances. (Check out my GR review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2987951769) This was the book that eased me back into reading after completely losing my focus with the stress of the pandemic. I can’t wait for the sequel! More about it below!
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit with us, Jen, and congratulations on this wonderful, heart-warming book!
